Local Honey

Honey Bees, along with several other natural pollinators, are an integral part of the production of fruits and vegetables on our farm.  Each year, we hire a professional beekeeper to set out and manage thousands of hives in our watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin, and squash fields.  Not only is this practice extremely beneficial in growing vulnerable bee populations, but it also provides us a sweet treat at the conclusion of the produce season.

Once the honey is harvested from our hives, our family fills, decorates, and labels the ball jars as you see in the picture above.  Paul and Amelia Mouzin started this tradition years ago, and still spend many winter days by a hot stove, jarring honey together.
